Day by Day

(Living With Chronic Illness)

How do you deal with day to day life, when you will have a chronic illness, which may be the cause of your life ending?

I do what I can, the best I can, for as long as I can.  Most days I have a list of goals I am hoping to complete.

While in treatment, my goals may be simple,  get out of bed, binge watch my favorite series while sitting in my recliner,  take my meds, drink enough fluid as recommended by my Oncologist, eat something and avoid falling.  That may be my day.

Other better days, I may run errands, wash dishes, do laundry, fill birdfeeders, mail bills, do cat care ect.  Every day is unique.

On a great day, I may take a road trip to the beach or go on a nature walk in the woods.  Maybe, a trip to a theatre to see a movie is added to my list.  Perhaps, I choose to meet with friends at a restaurant.

I am grateful for each day!

  • I worked as a registered nurse in Critical Care for over 35 years. I retired in 2017. I am single, never married. I have one sister, one brother and I am an aunt. I love animals and nature, especially cats. My Siamese cat, Tiger is my constant companion and joy. I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in July 2015. I received debulking surgery at that time. I have been through chemotherapy a total of 3 times. I am receiving it now for pulmonary nodules which popped up on my CT scan in April and an area under my left diaphragm which is also positive for cancer. This is my 2nd reoccurence. No symptoms with this reoccurence or the reoccurence I had in 2018. (See what I mean by MY SNEAKY CANCER ) ?
