Feels Like Flying
It has been a great week! I continue to feel well. No drop in energy. No fatigue. So I suspect my labs will be great on Tuesday, my Nadir visit. Of course, I can not feel it when my platelets and neutrophils drop. Historically for me, if my Hemoglobin/Hematocrit drop, they drop too. So how have I spent my time? Besides my usual house maintenance duties, I have gone to an art class called Chalk Couture. It is sponsored by Journey of Hope at my Oncologist’s office. It is free for patients and their caregivers. It is easy to be successful. It involves chalk paste and stencils. We had a great time. Bambi was able to come along this time and she got a kick out of it too. Yesterday we went to an auction. This was low end bidding prices averaging $3-$5. It included their usual auction and a warehouse auction. I quickly discovered anyone seriously interested in getting bargains, needed a truck or a van. 7 boxes of assorted items for $5 was not unusual. The variety was amazing. I will list a few. How about a used boat motor, a portable TV, a box of vases, a gas can, a microwave oven, a stackable washer/dryer, assorted fall decor items, dolls, 8 assorted suitcases, speakers, a singing Christmas post, an NFL icon quilt, a leather vest with Evil Knievel red white and blue decoration and much more. I am hooked for sure. I managed to spend less than $30. I had good self control. Twice I set a limit and sticked to it for an item. ( I wish I had bidded higher and got the singing light post but there is no telling how high it would have gone, I stopped at $20). I actually went outside and did some moderate yard work, pruning and pulling up landscape cloth this week. TODAY IS A GOOD DAY. (Like when God created the universe in the Old Testament and he would say “It was good” kind of a good day.) I hope you are finding a little joy in your day today.
